The Megalithic Sites of LocmariaquerDiscover the world of prehistoric people!

The town of Locmariaquer is home to a remarkable megalithic heritage, nestled in the heart of a preserved natural environment.
Three major iconic monuments:

  • The Broken Grand Menhir, standing 21 metres tall and weighing nearly 280 tonnes, the largest stone monument ever erected during the Neolithic period
  • The Er Grah Tumulus
  • The Table des Marchands Dolmen

Decorated with two magnificent engraved stones, the Table des Marchands is a passage grave and, like the Er Grah Tumulus, offers a fascinating insight into the funerary rituals of the Neolithic period (between 4,500 and 3,500 BC).

A visit to this exceptional site is the perfect complement to a visit to the Carnac alignments and reminds us that Morbihan is a land of mysteries and legends.

An absolute must: the Megaliths Trail, available from the Tourist Office or accessible online.
